TP Rawks 2011

Welcome to our annual TPRawks!

TPRawks is part of an outreach program by Temasek Polytechnic to attract secondary school graduates. An annual event which is eagerly awaited.

This year, Digital Forensic (DFS) and Cyber Digital Security (CDS) have designed our very own games for the Rawkers to try out as part of our course introduction!

Settle down Rawkers! Get a seat, don’t be shy (:

Our game master explaining the game to the Rawkers.

Hmm, seem like they need to find a matching fingerprint ;) CSI in TP huh?

More about the two courses

Cyber Digital Security

Many have misconception about this course, Cyber Digital Security (CDS) does NOT train hackers but we train security professionals. Four main aspects of the course are namely, ethical hacking, security audit, secure programming and system network security.

Ethical hacking teaches students the various types of hacking methods and how to prevent them.

Security audit teaches student how to test the vulnerability of a security system.

Secure programming teaches student how to write safe and secured codes.

System network security teaches student how to configure a safe network.

CDS has always been a distinguished course in Temasek Polytechnic, it is recognised for its competency in producing good quality IT Security students.  Its students have won several competitions both regional and international.

Digital Forensics

Temasek Polytechnic is the first and only polytechnic in Singapore to offere a full-time diploma in Digital Forensics. The Singapore government is actively developing expertise in Digital Forensics.  People with Digital Forensics skills are able to locate, retrieve and analyse data from various storage media such as hard disk, thumb drives and even mobile phones as well as live data from the internet. The data retrieved are analysed and used as evidence to support both civil and criminial investigations.  A vital technology which will help rival increasing high-tech crimes.

Being the first diploma in Singapore, high expectations have been placed on this course. Students have the course to be both challenging and interesting.

  1. If you don't learn how to do it, you can't counter it. Hence whether or not CDS trying to train out hackers are irrelevant because hackers are the best security profesionals in DIgital Forensics Singapore. Same goes for other countries.

    Just my PoV
